Shawn Renfro is a New York City based actor and teaching artist. He has taught in all five boroughs of the city. From Kindergarten in Staten Island to High school in the Bronx, elementary at the 92nd street Y and the eighteen to twenty year olds at Rikers Island. He has developed many teaching philosophies, such as violence prevention, decision-making, writing skills, and learning and applying Shakespeare’s text.
In 2008 he co-founded the Apothecary Theatre Company, which received a NT Times critics pick for their off-Broadway show entitled In God’s Hat. Shawn Graduated with a BFA in Acting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where he spent four months in London, England at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre learning all the ins and outs of William Shakespeare’s plays.
