Soprano Lesly de Groot has been talking about singing, thinking about singing, organizing singing, studying singing and practicing singing since age two. Between engagements, Lesly teaches music for children of all ages (newborn- collegiate) as a voice, choral, and piano instructor. She received a Master of Music in Opera performance from UNLV with a choral emphasis, performed with Opera Chorus of Philadelphia under the direction of Maestro Donald Nally and sang six seasons in the Spoleto, Italy Festival of Two Worlds with composer Gian Carlo Menotti. Recent workshop roles include Micaela in Carmen, Mimi in Boheme, Susannah in Susannah and Juliet in both Gounod and Bellini versions of Romeo and Juliet while doubling as a producer for local company Opera Feroce. Her CD debut as Emily in Daron Hagen’s world premiere Bandanna was released by Albany Records 2006. Audience members frequently comment, “her voice is the biggest thing about her” making “Les is more” a true statement.

Lesly is happy to announce she will assistant direct the Riverdale Rising Stars Jr “Oklahoma” production this Fall.
