Children’s On-Camera Technique
Instructor:  Elizabeth Mason

Work to develop the craft of of acting in front of the camera verses acting onstage. Learn the techniques needed to book the jobs on film and television.

**A child must be able to read to take this class.

Adult Improv
Instructor:  Kurt Fitzpatrick

Learning to Improvise! Students will get explore the fundamental principles of improvisation through exercises in agreement, commitment, spontaneity and listening. Sessions are designed so students will build a strong foundation as a confident performer. The class is about bringing who you are, all your knowledge and experience, your point of view and your tastes, and then applying concrete techniques as you play with focused abandon with other smart people doing that same thing. Improv is also a powerful tool, useful in every aspect of a person’s life. And once the techniques become second nature… well, you’ll see.

Art of Improv
Instructor:  Annette Arnold

For 8-11 year olds & 12+

Invent, compose and perform with little or no preparation!  Painters create masterpieces without knowing the outcome. Musicians spontaneously perform different versions of the same song. Drummers miss a beat and create a new one. Actor trusts that little voice inside their head that says “Wouldn’t it be interesting if…” And then do it! This course is for anyone who wants to have fun!

Character Development
Instructor:  Lauren E  Harrison

For Middle School/Junior High School.

Young performers: Become your characters from the neck down!  Effective storytelling is always about well-rounded characters, and in this class students will learn how to channel their own emotional and real-life experiences into an enthralling stage presence.  They will also learn how to inhabit any character physically, and stay in-character even when not speaking.  Utilizing a conceptual approach, this class will explore methods of developing characters through nonverbal posture and movement choices.  There will be a final presentation for parents at the end of the course.

Commercial Audition Techniques

Your child will develop the skills needed to book on next big national commercial!

Creative Art Makers
Instructor:  Lauren E  Harrison

For 9 to 11 year olds.

Calling all aspiring Directors, Producers, Choreographers, Composers, Writers, and Inventors!   This class is designed for the expressive, creative student of any level.  In this class, students will learn how to develop a piece of performance art from start to finish. Miss Lauren will facilitate group and solo work focused on the development of the students’ creative voices.  Through integrating dance, music, theater, creative writing, poetry and visual art, these young artists will develop a deeper understanding of themselves. This class will culminate in a final performance of unique pieces created by the students.

Dance For The Actor
Instructor:  Lauren E  Harrison

For 16 to 18 year olds.

Do you want to be a Triple Threat? This class is designed for serious young performers who want to become professional performers. Elements of Jazz, Ballet, Modern and Theater Dance will be explored in order to allow the performing artist the opportunity to further develop his/her body as an expressive instrument. Students will learn skills that will help them in the audition process for BA/BFA college programs and /or a professional career in the performing arts on the stage or screen.

Design
Instructor:  Penny Margeotes

One definition of design is to plan and fashion artistically, or with skill. In this class, students will learn how to use imagination, organization, & knowledge to create & plan ideas and objects of their own. We will talk a lot about how design relates specifically to costuming theatrical productions, but that will not be our sole focus. Students will be allowed & encouraged to explore those facets of design that interest them most, in an age-appropriate way.

Expressive Story Tellers
Instructor:  Lauren E  Harrison

For 5 to 8 year olds.

Is your kid a power house of creativity?  Does your child have a new idea every five minutes?  This class is designed to help children learn how to harness and redirect the energy they have, collaborate effectively, and engage a room full of people.  Activities will include “Act-A-Story” and “Dance-A-Story” explorations and game structures, and every child will help create our final performance!  This class is for students of every level.

Getting Your Name Out With Blogging & Social Media
Instructor:  Stacey Natal

For Adults 19+

This class is for anyone looking for creative ways to “Get Your Name Out There” specifically through blogging and Social Media.  We will cover why, and how to blog using WordPress and then show you how to integrate social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook to help build your audience .   Blogging is a great way for Creatives to showcase their work and personality.   Let’s get blogging!!!

High School Playwriting
Instructor:  Don Creedon

In this class, we will explore the fundamentals of how to write for the stage: dramatic structure, the development of character through conflict, subtext, dialogue. Through writing prompts and exercises, we’ll begin developing short pieces which will be critiqued in a supportive workshop format. The class will culminate with a public reading of selected excerpts by a cast of experienced actors.

Pre-K Music
Instructor:  Lesly de Groot

This class is for the seriously silly.  Explore creating, interpreting, playing, learning and listening to various styles of music alongside your child.  We will not only sing and dance but experiment with instrument construction-building our own music inspired yoga poses.  End of session CD included.

Shakespeare / Scene Study
Instructor:  Julian Rozzell, Jr.

“Shakespeare is to Acting what Ballet is to Dance”. This class will explore Shakespearean text through the use of rhythm and comprehension.  We will then explore the Shakespearean style of acting through monologues and various scene study.  The class is designed to demystify Shakespeare so that it is fun and accessible to the young actor. There will be a performance at the end of the term.

Theater I
Instructor:  Julian Rozzell, Jr.

This class is for middle school students interested in exploring the technique of acting. We will explore the wonderful instrument of the body through Voice, Body, and imaginative theatre exercises. We will also explore various styles of text, monologues, and multiple scenes designed to make the student a confident and imaginative theatre practitioner. There will be a performance at the end of the term.

Theater II
Instructor:  Julian Rozzell, Jr.

This class is for high school students interested in learning the technique of acting. Students will be challenged to explore various theatre techniques from Meisner to Stanislavski and gain a rich understanding of the craft through theatre exercises and various text. There will be a performance at the end of the term.

Toddler Music
Instructor:  Lesly de Groot

This class is for sparking natural music and movement behaviors in toddlers.  Adults join in the fun by participating alongside instructor Lesly de Groot.  We will wiggle, shake ( ourselves and instruments), sing, interpret sounds thru dance and most importantly -play!  Experience varied styles, tempos, and imaginary journeys while watching your child’s innate talents unfold.  End of session CD included.

Welcome To Theater
Instructor:  Lesly de Groot

Offers 6-7 year olds the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of actor training. The courses are a part of a structured theatre program designed to give students a basis in performance training as well as effective communication and public speaking skills. Students are introduced to the concepts of focus and body language as well as the importance of a strong and confident voice through fun and creative activities

Young Playwrights
