Summer Stage
Summer Stage, (formerly Broadway on the Hudson) is the ultimate Theater Camp experience. Rising Stars began Summer Stage with the aim of creating the “Whole Artist” in a fun, innovative and professional environment. Summer Stage gives the opportunity for young artists to explore the world of theater everyday. Campers work with professionals on a daily basis in Acting, Shakespeare, Stage Combat, Voice, Dance, Photography and even more.
Artists (campers) spend an entire summer immersed in the Arts and surrounded by a nurturing environment. In addition to daily workshops, campers at Summer Stage also work on a full scale musical, attend NY Theater and receive Master Classes from Industry professionals.
The Summer Stage team includes our own Rising Star Teens and alumni serving as counselors, Musical Directors and Choreographers, allowing our young adults to transition into being role models for our campers.
Our programs include:
Little Stars/Pioneer Program 1st – 2nd GradersOur Pioneer program is a great introductory program for our young artists to explore the world of theater. Through games and exercises, campers will devise their OWN SHOW to present at the end of summer. Summer Stars 3rd & 4th graders, 5th & 6th gradersAlthough these two groups will be tracking separately during their workshops, they will be rehearsing together to present a FULLY PRODUCED MUSICAL at the end of summer *During Workshops Summer Stars will be split into two different groups. Triple Threat 7th – 9th GradersTriple Threat is a new venture for us. Aimed to bring our young artists talents to the next level, our Triple Threat participants will experience professional training and perform in a SHOWCASE at the end of their training. In addition to rehearsals, campers will also have the opportunity to enjoy activities such as: ACTING – SHAKESPEARE – IMPROV – TAP – JAZZ – HIP HOP – MOVEMENT for the ACTOR and more. |

Workshop Track – ½ DayThis track is for the kid that does not want to get up early in the summer but still wishes to challenge themselves. Campers in our Workshop Track will participate in all our afternoon workshops and present their work at our end of summer Collaborative ArtsFest. FEE: Half Price of Camp *Workshop Campers will attend our Field Trips WorkshopsACTING – SHAKESPEARE – IMPROV – TAP – JAZZ – HIP HOP – MOVEMENT for the ACTOR and more. |

TRIPSBroadway – This year we will be going to see the Broadway SMASH HIT – SISTER ACT! Art in Nature at Wave Hill – The entire camp will enjoy their activities, while incorporating the beautiful grounds of Wave Hill and the Hudson River. |
