Show: Fiddler on the Roof
Ages: ALL ages from 7 to 100!
Audition Dates/Time: March 9th 7-9, March 10th 6:30-9:30, March 11th 6:30-9:30
Our age requirements for Fiddler On The Roof are wide-ranged as much will depend on the ages of the Tevye and Golde. So we are open to what age you can “play” as opposed to what age you “are!!
Character Breakdown:
Tevye, the milkman – Age 40-60
Tzeitel, his eldest daughter – Age 16-30
Hodel, his second-eldest – Age 15-28
Chava, his middle daughter – Age 14-25
Golde, his wife – Age 40-60
Motel, a tailor, in love with Tzeitel – Age 16-30
Perchik, a student, in love with Hodel – Age15-28
Yente, the matchmaker – Age 40-60
Lazar Wolf, the butcher – Age 35-55
Fruma-Sarah, Lazar Wolf’s late wife – Any age
Grandma Tzeitel, a late relative – ageless – Any age
The Russian, a Christian, in love with Chava – Age 14-25
The Rabbi – Age 40-70
Mendel, the Rabbi’s son – Age 15-25
Avrahm, a bookseller – Age 20+
Shprintze and Bielke, Tevye’s youngest daughters – Ages 7-11
+ singing and dancing chorus, some one-liners and some solo singing lines- ALL AGES
What to Prepare: Prepare a song of choice – bring your own accompaniment or sing a capella
Auditions and performances will be held at the Riverdale YM-YWHA, located at 5625 Arlington Avenue (just off of Riverdale Avenue and West 256th Street), in Riverdale, Bronx, NY. Participation for all groups is by audition only. Junior Rising Stars and Riverdale Rising Stars are tuition-based programs, and scholarships are available to those who qualify.
