National Youth Theater Awards 2012

It is an exciting time for all of the Riverdale Rising Stars!!!!

We received 8 Awards and 25 Nominations!!

Just to clarify….the awards are considered the “winners’ and the nominations are given in recognition of outstanding work in addition to those who receive the awards. It’s a lovely way to acknowledge more of the wonderfully talented children and teens throughout the country. (and clearly that includes ALL OF YOU!!)

Please also note that Les Miserables was awarded “special” nominations in their own category because so many of the participants were above the eligible age. the judges felt that the show was amazing and wanted to acknowledge it is some way and put it in a unique category called “Guest Actor/Actress and Guest Ensemble”.

I am very proud. Congratulations to all. It was a wonderful season and, clearly, a monumental effort for all of us.

Ceremony:

There will be an awards ceremony held at the Riverdale YM-YWHA in Bronx, NY at 7:30 p.m. (registration beginning at 6:45 p.m.) on Sunday, July 29.

RSVP:

Anyone who wants to attend will need to RSVP so that we know if they will be there and how many people will be attending. There is an RSVP form located at http://www.nationalyouththeatre.com/news/news_nya_awards2012_rsvp.asp. Award winners and nominees get 1 free ticket (as do participants of an Outstanding Ensemble or Production award). NYA members get 2 free tickets. Additional tickets are $10/each.

Please Note! Seating is very limited, so it’s important to RSVP as soon as possible if you want to be sure of getting a seat!
